Resin infusion
is a technique we use when we make carbon fiber parts. The media is put dry on the mold. It is very similar process to the vacuum bagging discussed above, with the addition of a placement of a spiral tubing or other media which its purpose is to allow the resin to flow. After vacuum integrity is achieved, a catalyzed resin is introduced to the mold cavity to wet out the fabric. Once the fabrics are saturated, the inlet tube is clamped and the part let to cure. We can infuse parts with Epoxy, Vinyl ester or Polyester resins.
